Dr Tolulope Fajumi
Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr. Tolulope Fajumi is a highly experienced Forensic Psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Since 2015, she has served as a Consultant Psychiatrist with Hunter New England Mental Health and is the current Chair of the Medical Staff Council. Her extensive training includes an MBBS from King’s College London, postgraduate psychiatry training in the UK and Australia, and advanced forensic psychiatry training in Manchester. She holds dual specialist registration in psychiatry with AHPRA and the UK’s General Medical Council.
Dr. Fajumi has held senior roles across high- and medium-secure units, correctional facilities, and forensic hospitals, including Ashworth Hospital and the Edenfield Medium Secure Unit in the UK. In Australia, she has led the care of forensic patients statewide at the Kestrel Unit, and currently also serves at the Intermediate Stay Mental Health Unit. In addition to her clinical work, she is a psychiatrist member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal and offers specialist guidance via the national GP Psychiatry Support Line. Her holistic, recovery-oriented approach focuses on treatment-resistant conditions, forensic risk, and court reporting.
